Brecon Jazz Festival
After 25 years of hosting the world's leading jazz artists, the festival is on hiatus until 2010 due to financial difficulties. The festival is usually held each August.

Hay Festival of Literature
Held annually in the secondhand book capital of the world, the festival attracts booklovers and writers from around the world. The next festival takes place May 21 to May 31, 2009.

Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod
Each summer, costumed singers, dancers, and musicians converge at the Royal International Pavilion for Llangollen's International Musical Eisteddfod. The annual competition will be held July 7-12, 2009.

The National Eisteddfod of Wales
A tradition dating to 1176, this annual folk festival alternates between venues in North and South Wales. From August 1-8, Bala will host Eisteddfod 2009.

St. David's Cathedral Festival
The annual classical musical festival is held each spring. Bookings begin after St. David's Day (March 1.) The next festival runs from May 22 to May 31, 2009.

Dylan Thomas Celebration
Swansea hosts the annual Dylan Thomas Celebration October 27 to November 9. The festival coincides with the dates of Thomas' birth and death.

Wales Children's Folk Dance Festival
Known in Welsh as Gŵyl Plant Cymru, this non-competitive children's festival takes place every two years; however, regional festivals take place annually.
